Aviation
Scholarship Application
By filling out
this application you are applying for all 3 aviation scholarships. Signed
applications are due to Laura Bies’ office in room number 108 of Wenona Hall by Tuesday March 18, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.
Russ Dangel Memorial Scholarship in Aviation
should be a
sophomore or above majoring in the aviation program at SDSU. The recipient
should be a well-rounded individual who has demonstrated a passion for flight.
This scholarship is not renewable. The
recipient shall be selected by the SDSU Aviation Program Scholarship Committee.
Linda Hall Daschle Scholarship for Aviation Excellence
is based on the
following criteria: Sophomore Aviation Education students who return to the
program after receiving a private pilot’s license through the SDSU Aviation
Education program with the last year and who demonstrate outstanding academic
and flight training performance shall be eligible for this award. Preference
shall be given to students with a GPA of 3.25 or higher who exhibit promise in
the aviation industry and have financial need. The recipient of the Linda Hall
Daschle Scholarship for Aviation Excellence shall be selected by the Aviation
Program Scholarship Committee.
Harley F. and Adele M. Taylor Scholarship in Aviation
Education
shall
be a full-time sophomore, junior or senior student who is majoring in one of the
three specializations within the Aviation Program in the College of Education and Counseling, with at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point
average. The recipient must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and
flight training performance and show promise to make a significant contribution
to the aviation industry. Awards shall be for $1,000. The recipient shall be
selected by the Aviation Education Program Scholarship Committee.
Rules and
Disclaimer:
Failure to major in Aviation Education in the College
of
Education and Counseling
and enroll in aviation education
courses, withdrawal from the College of Education and Counseling, or failure to maintain a
3.2 cumulative GPA will result in forfeiture of the award. Failure to
acknowledge acceptance of the award according to procedures outlined in a letter
to recipients will also result in forfeiture of the award.
